In honor of of Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, Richmond Chief of Police, Tom Costello, issued the following statement:

"I’d like to thank and show my personal appreciation for all the dispatchers that answer the calls for service, including 911 calls throughout this great state.  I’d like to especially thank our dedicated and hard working dispatchers here at Richmond PD.  They do an outstanding job and are truly the “FIRST” responders to stressful life and death 911 calls, police and fire radio transmissions and the everyday mundane phone calls.  They keep our citizens, police officers and firefighters safe by their accurate gleaning of information and broadcasting their calm tone under incredible situations.   Please thank a dispatcher this week and remember they may answer your call for help."
