[ARCHIVED] SNOW EMERGENCY ISSUED FOR 2/2/2022 & 2/3/2022

Snow Emergency Issued for 2/2/2022 and 2/3/2022

Effective Wednesday, February 2, 2022 beginning at 6:00 a.m. through Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 6:00 p.m., the City of Richmond has issued a SNOW EMERGENCY.  The emergency is issued under Chapter 90, Article IV, Sec. 90(76-80) and prohibits the parking of motor vehicles on any highway, street, public roadway or public right of way.

Sec. 90-77. Parking prohibited during emergency.  No parking of motor vehicles shall be allowed or special parking granted on any highway, street, public roadway or public right-of-way located within the city during the existence of a snow or storm emergency created by an excessive snowfall or other storm which significantly impairs or prevents the full and complete use of any highway, street, public roadway or public right-of-way located within the city.

Due to the projected timing and duration of the winter storm, we are issuing the Snow Emergency to assist our Department of Public Works (DPW) with the clearing of our streets within the City of Richmond.  Some of the heaviest snows are projected during the daytime.  We ask for the cooperation of all our residents and visitors to please park off of the streets and in driveways or parking areas.
