[ARCHIVED] Fireworks Ordinance

In September of 2020 a new Firework Ordinance went into effect in the City of Richmond that covers consumer fireworks. Over the 4th of July Holiday, it is legal to use consumer fireworks from June 29th until July 4th, 11am-11:45pm each day.

The only days that fireworks are allowed to set of in Richmond are as follows. 

1.  Prohibited conduct and Violations. 

  1. No person shall ignite, discharge or use consumer fireworks within the City, except as follows: 

On the following days after 11 a.m.: 

  1. December 31 until 1 a.m. on January 1. 
  2. The Saturday and Sunday immediately preceding Memorial Day until 11:45 p.m. on each of those days. 
  3. June 29 to July 4 until 11:45 p.m. on each of those days. 
  4. July 5, if that date is a Friday or Saturday, until 11:45 p.m. 
  5. The Saturday and Sunday immediately preceding Labor Day until 11:45 p.m. on each of those days. 
  6. The Friday and Saturday immediately following Labor Day until 11:45 p.m. on each of those days.
