[ARCHIVED] Calling all Richmond Kids!

CALLING ALL LOCAL KIDS!!

The City of Richmond would like to invite all local children to show their Patriotism and join this year’s Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 31st starting at 10 am.

Decorate your bike, a wagon, or yourself in Red, White and Blue and come participate in the parade! The parade route for 2021 has changed and has been shortened. This year’s parade will enter Main Street at Washington Street and travel south to Water Street (similar to the Homecoming Parade).

Line up for the parade will be next to Bailey Park on Washington Street between Main and Beebe Streets starting at 9:30 am.

After the completion of the parade, a brief ceremony will take place at the Veterans Memorial in the pocket park on the west side of Main Street (next to Maniaci’s Banquet Hall). The block of Main Street between Monroe and Water Streets will remain closed to allow the public to space out in the street to watch the ceremony.  Mayor Tim Rix is scheduled to emcee the event. In addition to the Richmond High School Marching Band, members of the Richmond Volunteer Fire Department, Police Department, Richmond-Lenox EMS, Richmond Little League and the Color Guard have also been invited to attend.
