[ARCHIVED] National Day of Prayer

Richmond City Council approved a proclamation recognizing Thursday, May 6, 2021 as the National Day of Prayer for the City of Richmond.  For over 20 years, the City Council has worked with the Richmond Area Pastors to allow them to hold an event in front of City Hall.  Pastors from local churches gather during the event and publicly pray for local officials.

This year, weather permitting, Pastors from local churches will gather at Richmond City Hall, 36725 Division Rd, and hold a ceremony praying for all local officials. The ceremony will be 12:20pm-12:40pm. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

In the case of inclement weather, please visit the City of Richmond website at www.cityofrichmond.net to find the Zoom link for the prayer ceremony.

The first National Day of Prayer was declared in 1775 by the Continental Congress. This observance encourages all Americans to affirm the nation’s spiritual roots and to enlist prayer for local, state and national leaders.
