[ARCHIVED] M-19 (Main Street) Microsurfacing

M-19 (Main Street) Microsurfacing – According to MDOT, their microsurfacing contractor Ny-Mac is returning to Richmond to finish the M-19 resurfacing job they began last year.  MDOT’s Project Engineer Mark Koskinen believes that Ny-Mac will be in Richmond beginning Sunday night, August 26th.  Mark cautioned that if there is rain Friday or Saturday, this could push the contractor back to Monday night.   They anticipate the work to be completed by Labor Day.

Due to the traffic problems that occurred last summer when the project reduced M-19 to one lane, the contractor will be doing the work this year at night.  This also reduces the risk of vehicles getting on the new driving surface and causing the contractor to have to redo work already completed.

This is an MDOT project as Main Street is a state highway (M-19).  The contact person for the project is the project MDOT Project Engineer Mark Koskinen, 248-794-3905.  Mark is subcontracted by MDOT through Aecom an engineering firm.
