Getting a Library Card

City of Richmond Residents
Full service library cards are issued to residents of the City of Richmond. With this card, patrons are able to request materials from any of the other libraries in the Suburban Library Cooperative (SLC).The Lois Wagner Memorial Library also honors library cards issued by all member libraries of the SLC.

Non-Residents
The Lois Wagner Memorial Library issues courtesy cards to persons living within the City of Richmond’s contractual service area: Casco, Columbus, and Richmond Township.

Additionally, courtesy cards are issued to persons living outside the service area, but owning real property in the City of Richmond, upon showing proof of ownership. Courtesy cards allow the holder to only use materials found in our library. They cannot place holds or be provided with inter-library loans unless they purchase a full-cooperative nonresident card.

Library Card Use
Though it is preferred that a library card be presented when checking out materials, the Library recognizes that there will often be times when a patron does not have their library card available. A registered patron, in good standing, may check out materials without a library card upon presentation of proof of identification.
